Pre-Requisites for Joining Our Advanced Tajweed Course
To ensure students are prepared for the advanced curriculum, we have outlined essential prerequisites for joining our Advanced Tajweed Course. These requirements help students make the most of the course content and achieve mastery of Tajweed.
Students must be familiar with fundamental Tajweed rules, including basic Madd (elongation), ghunna (nasalization), and the correct articulation of Arabic letters.
Participants should be comfortable with reading and reciting short
verses and recognize the essential signs and symbols in the Quranic script.A basic understanding of where and how to pause (Waqf) and continue (Ibtida) in recitation is essential, as these skills will be expanded upon in the advanced curriculum.
Students should already know how to articulate the unique sounds of Arabic letters, mainly the challenging letters like yo (dad), Je (sad), b (țā’), and l (zā’).
This course is designed for students aged 14 and above who can handle the complexity of advanced Tajweed topics and engage in focused practice sessions.
As this is an intensive course, students must commit to regular practice and active participation in all classes and exercises.

softness (leens) and heaviness (Isti’la)
of certain letters, to ensure precision
in pronunciation.
You will cover the advanced
applications of Idgham (merging) and
Ikhfa (concealment), especially in
complex verse structures. This will
help you smoothly transition between
letters and sounds while reciting with
clarity and flow.
You will learn to recite with
accurate elongation and rhythm
by exploring complex Madd types,
such as Madd Lazim and Madd Al
Badal, including instances where
multiple types occur within a
verse.
Students will learn how to apply Waqf and Ibtida in extended verses, understanding where to pause for meaning and flow. They’ll practice correct stopping at specific words to avoid altering the intended meaning of verses.
